Brandy Lyon

I’m a junior studying Conservation Biology & Ecology. I’m a nontraditional student coming back to school for a career change; away from my current profession as a nurse. I’m also a single parent to an amazing little girl! Outside of professional and student life, I enjoy yoga, dancing, roller skating, horseback riding, puzzles, reading, the arts, and being in nature of course.

I aspire to make a difference in the world, and I care deeply about the environment and all the underdogs out there. We seem to be on the precipice of facing our habit of destructive consumption and its aftermath. I’m here to contribute to science and find inspiration to share. I hope to see real change in our collective attitude towards nature and find ways to apply
my skills to help that cause.

One of my educational goals is to study abroad to make connections and gain new perspective. I’d love to work internationally after I graduate or remain studying for an advanced degree if the right opportunity arises.
