Barrett, The Honors College Honors Thesis- My Coral Reef Booklet: Incorporating Coral Reef and Ocean Conservation Research into Elementary and Middle School Curriculum

I was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and although growing up in a landlocked state, found a love and passion for ocean conservation. For my undergraduate career, I pursued every marine related class, lab, and opportunity I could. Now I am a Master’s student pursuing research on coral reef conservation here in Arizona and in partnership with Dr. Yvonne Sawall down at BIOS, Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences. I’m lucky enough to have the opportunity to pursue something I’m passionate about and after my degree, I want to continue to work towards ocean conservation in any avenue that presents itself.

Aside from fieldwork and my education, I am a yoga instructor and love to practice, try new restaurants and shops with my friends, cooking and taking care of my plants!
