Kate Fetkenhour

I’m a senior at ASU studying Earth and environmental studies with minors in sustainability and Spanish.

I have had a fascination with the ocean since I was a little kid and have spent a lot of time since then learning about it and exploring it. I became a Master Diver in 2021 and have been working towards my Divemaster certification since with hopes of becoming an SSI Dive Pro. I think the reef ecosystem is so vital to our planet and the interactions between the different life forms in these ecosystems are intriguing. With the current climate crisis so deeply affecting these ecosystems it has become even more important to me and I hope to aid in making a positive change so that future generations can have the same love for the ocean that I do. After I get my undergrad degree I plan on eventually going to grad school to study marine science more in-depth and to explore all that the world’s oceans have to offer.
