Avery Kruger

I am a third year undergraduate student double majoring with B.A. Earth and Environmental Studies and B.S. in Conservation Biology and Ecology.

I have lived in the Phoenix area my whole life and while I love the Valley, I’ve always been drawn to the ocean and love it even more. I have always been fascinated by the incredible biodiversity the oceans have and how they create some of the most beautiful ecosystems. I have experience in marine related fieldwork and I have really been enjoying increasing my lab experience and knowledge as well. I love to crochet, take care of my snake and read about anything I can get my hands on. I have a huge appetite for learning so I am always brimming with questions!

After finishing my undergraduate degrees I plan on pursuing a PhD in marine biology and I hope to work in conservation of marine megafauna. Dedicating my career to better understanding the animals in the ocean has always been my goal, and especially with climate change accelerating we need to understand their roles in the sea and how we can help better protect them.
